Let's go to one of the greatest natural attractions in Bulgaria, surrounded by the beauty of the Rila Mountains.
Inside Rila National Park, the largest protected area in the country, there’s a group of seven deep blue glacial lakes. They are located one above another, between 2100 and 2500 m, and connected by streams and small waterfalls.
Each lake has a different name due to its shape or main feature: the Eye, the Fish Lake, the Tear, the Trefoil, the Twins, the Kidney, and the Lower Lake. The Tear, for instance, is the smallest and the one with the most transparent water. It is also the last one of the trek, so it offers a wonderful panoramic view.
